Diet and Pain

We recently had a patient come in for Prolotherapy injections, for upper back pain,  low back pain, and hip pain. Susan had endured a nightmare experience with back surgery and was left with so much pain that she had to quit her job and spent most days in bed. Obviously her life was falling apart. Unfortunately it is not uncommon for us to see patients with what we called failed back surgery syndrome. Luckily Susan took things into her own hands and started searching online one day and found Caring Medical and Prolotherapy!
When she traveled here from Ohio, which was a very difficult travel journey for her, she was so excited to be here. She just couldnt believe that Dr. Hauser was offering her hope for what she had come to believe was a hopeless situation. After a few Prolotherapy treatments she began to feel some relief and was ecstatic! She wanted to do all that she could to optimize healing so Dr. Hauser suggested Hauser Diet Typing.
Diet to accelerate healing The patient decided to follow Dr. Hausers recommendations to optimize healing and have Hauser Diet Typing done so that she could isolate which foods would promote healing specifically for HER. Her Diet typing results revealed that she needed a high protein, lower carb diet to support her blood sugars that started out low and shot up high after a glucose drink during the diet typing process.
Interestingly enough, the patient reported that she was a sugar freak and loved sweet tea, juice, sweetened cereal, and sweets of any kind. She was not happy about her high protein low carb Hauser Otter Diet because she did not want to give up all the foods she liked. But when we explained that the Otter Diet could help with healing and her back pain, she decided to try it.
After one month on the Otter Diet, the patient reported that her pain was definitely improving, In fact, the week of her appointment, she had been able to clean the house, do some gardening, take some photographs, and even host a BBQ for some of her friends all things that she was unable to do before Prolotherapy and changing her diet.
After reviewing her food diary it was clear that she had made some significant changes to her diet by eliminating sweet tea and most of the desserts from her diet, as well as adding more protein-containing foods such as eggs, meat, fish, and nuts. She definitely saw a positive response to the diet related to her overall sense of well-being, as well as her back and hip pain.
Susan required a total of five Prolotherapy treatments to her low back and hips. But she now reports that she is pain-free, eating healthy, and living a new life! If this case sounds like someone you know or YOU, give us a call at 708-848-7789 and get started today. There is no reason to live with pain even after surgery!
