PROLOTHERAPY IS OFTEN THE LESS EXPENSIVE OPTION

Recently a three-time ironman finisher contacted me about some recent back pain he was having. I referred him to a local Prolotherapist but that person did not give him Prolotherapy. It is now a month later after numerous sessions of physical therapy and the person really isn't better. It is looking like he is going to be receiving another 12 sessions of physical therapy. In the meantime he is not able to train and is not really feeling that much better.

You see this ironman athlete will ultimately get 20-25 sessions of physical therapy at a cost of around $5,000. In the end the athlete will still need Prolotherapy, because I could tell by their history that he has a sacroiliac ligament injury that will only heal (from my experience) completely with Prolotherapy. This is partly due to the extensive nature of this person's training. Because I am also an Ironman finisher and currently training for my second Ironman race I understand the demands on this person's body. I believe the other Prolotherapist wanted to use a more 'conservative' approach to this athlete's problem but it has only compounded the problem. You see this athlete has a major competition in two months that he may not make because of this delay. In the end the most conservative treatment and the least expensive one for this particular person was and is Prolotherapy. Don't waste time, if you have a ligament injury the most conservative treatment is Prolotherapy.
